Lacrosse Trak Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Lacrosse Trak! This guide will help you set up teams, add players, start a game, and track live lacrosse stats right away.


Features at a Glance

Navigate through the app using the menu bar.


Step 1: Create Your Teams

  1. Tap Teams in the menu bar.
  2. Tap the ➕ Add button.
  3. Enter team details:
    • Team Name (required, up to 100 characters).
    • Location (optional).
    • Team Type (Home or Opponent).
  4. Tap Save.

Your new team will show up in your team list. Tap a team to edit or delete it.


Step 2: Add Players to a Team

  1. Open a team from the Teams screen.
  2. Tap the Players icon in the menu bar.
  3. Tap ➕ Add and enter:
    • Starter (optional).
    • Player Name (required).
    • Player Number (required, 0–99).
    • Position (optional, e.g., Attack, Midfield, Defense, Goalie).
    • Photo (optional – tap the camera icon to add a player photo).
  4. Tap Save.

Players you add will appear in the team roster and be available during games.


Step 3: Create a Game

  1. Tap Games in the menu bar.
  2. Tap ➕ Add.
  3. Enter game details:
    • Game Title (required, up to 100 characters).
    • Date & Time (required).
    • Location (optional).
    • Home Team.
    • Opponent Team.
    • Game Type – Select Men’s or Women’s (required for lacrosse).
  4. Tap Next to save and open the Live Game Tracking screen.

Men’s vs. Women’s: The game type determines player count (10 for Men’s, 12 for Women’s) and terminology (“Faceoff” for Men’s, “Draw Control” for Women’s).


Step 4: Set Up the Live Game

The Live Game Tracking screen has three main areas:

  • Left Sidebar – Home (green) and Opponent (red) player number buttons. Tap a player number to select them before recording an action.
  • Scoreboard – Home and Visitor scores with a game clock in the center.
  • Action Grid & Play-by-Play – Action buttons and a live log of all recorded plays.

Before tracking:

  1. Select the current Quarter (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, or OT) from the dropdown.
  2. Use the game clock controls (▶ Play⏸ Pause⏹ Stop) and +/− buttons to adjust minutes and seconds.
  3. Tap the 🥍 possession button on the home or visitor side to track ball possession.

Now you’re ready to start tracking the game.


Step 5: Track the Game

First, tap a player number in the sidebar to select who performed the action. Then tap an action button to record it.

Instant Actions (recorded immediately on tap):

  • Assist (AST) – Records an assist.
  • Turnover (TO) – Records a turnover.
  • Ground Ball (GB) – Records a ground ball recovery.
  • Caused TO (CTO) – Records a caused turnover.
  • Save (SV) – Records a goalie save.

Popup Actions (open a detail dialog before recording):

  • Goal (GL) – Select the goal type (Even, Man Up, Man Down, or Fast Break) and whether the goal was Assisted or Unassisted. If assisted, select the assisting player.
  • Shot (SH) – Select the shot result: Saved, Missed, or Blocked.
  • Faceoff (FO) / Draw Control – Select the result: Won, Lost, or Violation. Label changes based on Men’s or Women’s game type.
  • Clear (CLR) – Select the result: Successful or Failed.
  • Penalty (PEN) – Select the penalty type (Slashing, Tripping, Cross-Check, Holding, Illegal Body Check, Unsportsmanlike, or Other) and duration (30s, 1 min, 2 min, or 3 min).

Step 6: Manage Player Substitutions

  1. Tap the Swap button (↔️) at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. The Player Swap screen shows four grids:
    • Home Active / Home Inactive.
    • Opponent Active / Opponent Inactive.
  3. Tap a player card to toggle them between active and inactive.
  4. Tap Done to save. The app validates that each team has the correct number of active players (10 for Men’s, 12 for Women’s).
  5. Tap Cancel to discard changes.

Step 7: Review the Game

  • Goals, scores, and all action counts update automatically on the scoreboard.
  • Scroll the Play-by-Play Log to review all recorded actions.
  • Each play-by-play entry shows: Quarter, Team (Home/Vis), Player Name, Player Number, Action, Detail, and Time.
  • Tap an entry in the play-by-play list, then tap ↩ Undo to reverse the last action.
  • When the game ends, the final stats are saved for later review in Reports.

Step 8: View Reports

  1. Tap Reports in the menu bar.
  2. Select a report:
    • Team List – All teams.
    • Team + Players – Team rosters with player details.
    • Team Score History – Game scores over time.
    • Season Report – Season-long performance summary.
    • Highest Scoring Players – Top-scoring players at a glance.
    • Player Game Stats – Detailed per-game stats grouped by player and action.

Step 9: Customize Settings

  1. Tap Settings in the menu bar.
  2. Adjust defaults:
    • Game Type.
    • Home Team.
    • Jersey Color.
    • Date Picker Type.
  3. Switch to the Game Types tab to add or edit game formats.
  4. Switch to the Seasons tab to manage seasons.

Helpful Tips

  • Select a Player First – Always tap a player number before tapping an action. An alert will remind you if you forget.
  • Quick Corrections – Use the Undo button to reverse any mis-tapped action.
  • Possession Tracking – Tap the 🥍 icon on either side to toggle ball possession. Possession time is saved automatically.
  • Substitutions – Use the Swap button to manage who is on the field at any time.
  • Men’s vs. Women’s – Choose the correct game type at setup. It controls player count, terminology, and reports.

Subscription Plans

  • Community (Free) – 1 player per team. Great for trying out the app.
  • All-Star ($4.99/month) – 30 players per team, full rosters, all actions.
  • MVP ($19.99/month) – Everything in All-Star plus cloud sync and all reports.
